[The University of Hull Centre for Internet Computing became part of the School of Arts and New Media on August 1 2006]

I lead, teach and provide academic support for modules including: information systems; programming; web design, development and administration; e-commerce and networking. This involves preparation of course materials as well as assessment and module documentation.

I have also been responsible for the management of the department's dedicated network provision and service, when it exisited.

Linux: RedHat 7-9 and Fedora Core distributions), supporting a network of roughly 70 machines using a variety of protocols (NIS, DNS, Samba, DHCP, etc.). Also latterly Ubuntu for teaching purposes

Mac OS X

Mac OS X 10.3-10.6 server and client admin. Successfully set up 50-seat Mac lab integrated into existing Windows and Unix systems: continued involvement in day-to-day support.

Relational Databases

ER analysis, normalisation and implementation, mainly using PostgresSQL although I have also used and administered MySQL servers both previously and currently, as well as MS Access for smaller tasks.
